Sweet Home High School

MIKE’s partnership with Sweet Home High School (SHHS), located in Linn County, Oregon, began when Oregon schools shifted to online learning during the pandemic. Since then, MIKE and SHHS have expanded programming from a single lunchtime health club into a full-year mentored health program for two Anatomy & Physiology classes with medical students volunteering as mentors. MIKE partners with Western University of Health Sciences, COMP-NW, to connect first and second-year medical students with the high school students. MIKE also began partnering the Western University of Health Sciences Physical Therapy program to bring in graduate students to Sweet Home High School students in the Sports Medicine and Introduction to Healthcare Occupations’ classes.

For 2025-2026, these exciting programs split programming between the high school campus in Sweet Home and the Western University of Health Sciences’ campuses in Lebanon, Oregon.
