Videographer
Goal/Purpose:
To videotape youth engaged in educational programs that have a vision of mentorship and youth empowerment. The videos would be used to capture MIKE Program events and the creativity, active learning, excitement, and relationship building of the youth in classrooms, community events, demonstrations, lectures, etc. They would be shown in lectures, fund-raising events, etc.
Responsibilities:
Videotape the youth in their educational setting, capturing their learning and creativity
Build positive relationships with youth through photography/video
Videotape MIKE Program special events community activities of the youth
Develop a 5-minute video to introduce MIKE Program to potential donors or volunteers.
Make a short documentary of a mural project designed for community building involving youth and a 100 foot wall in northeast Portland
Possibly participate in the Community Relations Committee
Time Committment:
1-4 hours/week as needed
Work Location:
The educational facility of the youth programs, community settings, and your home
Qualifications:
Is experienced in videotaping
Demonstrates good video taping techniques with demonstrated good composition, lighting and image resolution
Is willing to use own video taping equipment
Works well in a group setting
Relates well to youth of diverse cultures/ethnicities
Is accountable for actions
Welcomes challenging work in a new program
Needs little supervision in accomplishing projects
Can make a personal commitment of time
Demonstrates ability to apply and appreciative of support and guidance in working with diverse youth from disadvantaged socio-economic conditions consistent with the MIKE Program goals
Is able and willing to take and pass criminal background checks and drug testing
Date of Job Design:
Throughout the year 2009-2010 and ongoing, episodic

Can learn about chronic disease prevention through understanding kidney disease prevention
Can meet professionals in the health, medical, and educational communities
Can make a contribution to public health education
Can showcase and video talents to the broad MIKE Program community of Foundation and Corporate contributors, Communication and Publicity specialists, Individual Donors, and Diverse Communities in the Portland Metropolitan Area and beyond.
