Title: 
Graphic designer
Goal/Purpose: 
To develop MIKE Program outreach materials.
Responsibilities: 
Plan, analyze, and create graphics to enhance communications
Use computer software to generate images for publications.
Develop the overall layout and production design of publications: newsletters, flyers and reports
Produce promotional displays, packaging, and marketing brochures for products and services
Develop material for Internet Web pages, interactive media, and multimedia projects
Develop graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and Internet websites.
Participate in the Community Relations Committee
Time Committment: 
2-10 hours/month as needed
Work Location: 
The MIKE Program office and/or your home
Qualifications: 
Demonstrates technical skills in graphic design
Is skilled in using graphic design software
Effectively presents ideas, both verbally and visually
Is accountable for actions
Welcomes challenging work in a new program
Meets deadlines
Is willing to ask for help when needed
Needs little supervision in accomplishing projects
Can make a personal commitment of time
Has had formal education in graphic design
Has an aptitude for learning new technology
Is able and willing to take and pass criminal background checks and drug testing

Throughout the year 2009-2010 and ongoing, episodic

Can influence the educational programs of the MIKE program and have a positive impact on youth learning about healthy life choices to prevent kidney disease
Can learn about chronic disease prevention through understanding kidney disease prevention
Can meet professionals in the health, medical, and educational communities
Can make a contribution to public health education
Can showcase graphic design talents to the broad MIKE Program community of Foundation and Corporate contributors, individual donors, and diverse communities in the Portland Metropolitan Area and beyond.
